Recharging in the desert. ☀️🌵☀️ With my foldable solar panel (180W) and two more panels mounted on the roof (100W each) it‘s so easy to charge my onboard batteries - even when the alternator is not working… 🤷🏻‍♂️ Feels really good not to depend on hook ups or a generator powered by fossil fuels. Hard to understand why most of the American campervans I saw are not using the incredible power of the sun… 😎

I had just replaced it 16 months ago and have since driven only about 25,000 km (15,000 miles) with this refurbished generator… I am no alternator expert at all but when I broke down with my Land Rover here in Arizona these days I noticed that my starter batteries are drained and are no longer being charged while the engine is running. 🚑🤷🏻‍♂️🛠️🧰

Did you know that the saguaro is the largest cactus in the United States? They can grow to 18m (60 feet) tall and get 150-200 years old. And all this in such a dry and hot climate here in Arizona! ☀️☀️☀️

On the edge of space and time. I am so impressed! 🤩 Feels like a deep look into the history of our planet. A story of millions of years of movement in the Earth’s crust. While the Colorado Plateau has been rising for as much as 10,000 feet it created cracks where melted rock rose from deep inside the Earth. Then the Green River as well as the Colorado River began carving into the geologic layer cake, exposing buried sediments and creating the canyons of this amazing National Park. ☀️⛰️🇺🇸

What an amazing experience! 😊 After nearly four months on the road I am already noticing so many differences in my life… I lost all the extra pounds I never really felt well with. I am spending most of the time in nature, avoiding busy cities whenever possible. I wake up and go to bed earlier. I am breathing slower. And I am really enjoying the beauty of the earth and life in a much more relaxed way… So curious where the next eight months on the road will lead me to! 🚑🙌🏻

Looks as if “Dignity of Earth and Sky“ is carefully protecting my Land Rover… 😍 This amazing 50-foot high stainless steel statue by is overlooking the Missouri River. And has quite an interesting story to tell! The sculpture of an indigenous woman honors the culture of the Lakota and Dakota people in this area. As I learned she signifies people who have prevailed through the centuries. She represents all who resist and strive forward. She portrays a rallying cry for those who wish to be heard and valued. She stands strong and proud, meeting the morning sun and bracing against the nighttime cold. She contemplates the world through a poise of conviction and fearlessness. That’s why her name is “Dignity“.
